Bethlehem, PA (USA) – Yesterday, the AIMMS modeling competition ended at MOPTA 2010 with announcing Team ORTEC (Gouda, The Netherlands) as the winner. Team ORTEC is formed by Cindy de Groot of VU Amsterdam, Ilse Louwerse of Erasmus University and Arjan Thomas of University Twente, advised by Ineke Meuffels (ORTEC and PhD student at University of Tilburg).

Since February 1, many teams from all over the world enlisted to compete in a tax minimization modeling challenge for MOPTA 2010. The 3 finalists, Team Gladiator, University of Florida (Gainesville, FL, USA), Team ORTEC (Gouda, The Netherlands) and Team Twente (University of Twente, The Netherlands) were invited to present their final results on August 19, 2010 at MOPTA.

An honorable mention has been awarded to Team ETH (Zürich, Switzerland) and Team UWaterloo (University of Waterloo, Canada).

Soon the results of all finalists of this competition (project, presentation and report) will be shared on the AIMMS website.
