AIMMS in action

If you are visiting the INFORMS Regional Conference at Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ or the INFORMS Conference on O.R. Practice in Phoenix, AZ, be sure to come to our free pre-conference workshop, our presentation and/or software demos. At the Conference on O.R. Practice, you can find us also at the exhibit, in booth #10. We are ready to answer any question you might have and provide live demos of AIMMS and AIMMS Solutions.

* INFORMS Regional Conference (April 24-25)

AIMMS Software Demonstration

When:  Friday Apr 24, 3:30pm – 4:15pm
Where: (Cluster Optimization, check program for room)

The construction of an optimization model is an enjoyable activity. Until, the created model produces incorrect results or is too slow. We will show the tools in AIMMS that can help you to overcome the frustration of debugging by first creating a basic model to give you an overview of the capability of AIMMS. Followed by a demonstration of our diagnostic tools, the profiler, debugger and the AIMMS math program inspector. Join us to learn how you can make your modeling experience better.

Solving Optimization Models in Parallel

When:  Saturday Apr 25, 8:45am – 9:10am
Where: (Cluster Optimization, check program for room)

In many cases, solving a single optimization model is not efficient enough for large applications. However, solving a series of optimization models in parallel can be helpful. That is why a modeling tool like AIMMS introduced capabilities to handle this. Based on a real-life example (electricity transmission rights modeling), the practice and benefits of these new approaches to improve computation performance are demonstrated.

* INFORMS Conference on O.R. Practice (April 26-28)

AIMMS Preconference Workshop – Bringing the power of OR further than your desktop

When:  Sunday Apr 26, 12:00pm – 3:00pm
Where: Camelback B

In many situations, an optimization model doesn’t get much further than the desktop of the developer. As a result, a lot of the potential benefits are lost. In this workshop, we will show how AIMMS can help you to get more value out of your OR model.

  • In the first part of this demo we will focus on building an optimization model using AIMMS. As a good model is the first step of bringing OR further. However, in order to communicate the model and its results, an advanced GUI is needed and that is the reason why we will also demonstrate the capabilities that AIMMS has for building a graphical user interface, this includes objects like Pivot table, Network object, bar chart, pie chart, line chart and Gantt chart. So, that you can build a complete end-user application.
  • In the second part of this demo, we will focus on the ability and deploy optimization-based models further into the organization (or your customer’s organization) so these models can really create the benefits intended and become a powerful tool or driver for business decisions made every day by (non-OR) employees. We will do this by using examples from customers.

Join us to learn how to bring OR from your desktop to the rest of your organization (no AIMMS experience is needed) by registering at workshops@aimms.com.

AIMMS Software Demonstration – So you build this great model…now what?

When:  Monday Apr 27, 11:30am – 12:20pm
Where: Alhambra

How are you going to assure your models are used and that they will generate promised benefits and advance the organization? This demo will focus on the ability to create and deploy optimization-based models into the organization (or your customer’s organization) so these models can really create the benefits intended and become powerful tools or drivers for business decisions made every day by (non-OR) employees. Based on some best practices, we will show you how to be successful from the start.
