AIMMS Handler Service has encountered a problem after RPC install
The information in this article applies to:

When installing RPC for AIMMS 3.8.6 or higher, an error message may appear: AIMMS Handler Service has encountered a problem and needs to close.
When installing RPC for AIMMS 3.8.6 or higher, an error message (AIMMS Handler Service has encountered a problem and needs to close) appears if you have deployed an AIMMS web service with an earlier AIMMS version on your machine.
The file AimmsWebServiceListener.dll, which is needed for AIMMS web services to run correctly, has undergone a change. The AIMMS Handler Service, which handles your web services, cannot recognize the older version of this particular file.
You can safely ignore and click away the error message (though it re-appears once every minute until you have applied the resolution). In order to fix this problem, you have to open your web service project with the newly installed AIMMS version, navigate to the menu Settings – Multi Agent – Community Setup, go to the Webservice Properties tab and click on Generate Files. After this, please restart the AIMMS HTTP/RPC Handler Service, as described in the AIMMS Multi-Agent & Web Services documentation.
