AIMMS export classification
The information in this article applies to all US AIMMS customers who want to reexport their AIMMS-based solutions. Such reexports are subject to the US Export Administration Regulations (EAR), which regulate the export and reexport of most commercial items from the US. A key in determining whether an export license is needed from the Department of Commerce is knowing whether the item you are intending to export has a specific Export Control Classification Number (ECCN). The ECCN is an alpha-numeric code that describes a particular item or type of item, and allows you to check in the Commerce Control List (CCL) which controls are placed on that item.
To following ECCN classification numbers apply to various AIMMS components
|AIMMS component||ECCN classication|
Although some AIMMS components use encryption, Note 4 to Category 5, Part 2 of the CCL applies to each of these components. This completely removes these components from control under Category 5, Part 2 of the CCL.
More information about the EAR, the ECCN classification and the CCL can be found on the website of the Bureau of Industry and Security.
