CLH Aviación has selected the new AIMMS PRO Platform for the development of their employee planning and scheduling solution by consultancy firm Baobab Soluciones and AIMMS partner CQM to optimize the refueling operations of CLH Aviación at 28 airports across Spain.
CLH Aviación had been looking for a new advanced planning and scheduling solution. The goal of the implementation is to achieve improvements in efficiency and a reduction of the effort involved in planning of the fuel tank drivers and increased productivity through better planning and optimization. This solution will allow CLH Aviación to increase both service levels and employee satisfaction. The total number of drivers that will be planned is approximately 330 distributed proportionally across 28 airports.

Jorge Guillén, Managing Director of CLH Aviación, explains: “The advantage of selecting AIMMS is that the models are owned by CLH and working together with Baobab and CQM, we will develop models that are perfectly fitted to our company. This provides us with the best optimization solutions for our planning. Off the shelf solutions that are modified to our company will not give us the same value. Objective is to do more work in the same hours and I am confident this project will payoff soon.”

CLH Aviación is one of the first customers to use Paragon Decision Technology’s new AIMMS remote optimization and deployment platform, also named AIMMS PRO platform.

Christophe Frère, VP EMEA at Paragon, elaborates: ’With AIMMS PRO platform, we allow our customers to step into a new world of optimization opportunities. Our customers can now publish their developed models on their AIMMS PRO server and remote decision makers can use a web browser to access their user friendly graphical interface to solve complex problems and make better decisions.’

With AIMMS PRO platform, we are investing in the future now having one standardized optimization platform for all our planning and optimization requirements. Operations Research techniques, and optimization in particular, has always been one of our main competitive advantages, and now we are taking another step in this direction ’, says Mr. Jorge Guillén.

Compañía Logística de Hidrocarburos (CLH) is the leading company on the Spanish market for the transportation and storage of oil products with a network of oil pipelines of more of 4,000 kilometers in length and 38 storage facilities. About CLH

CLH Group plays a key role in a large number of Spanish airports through CLH Aviación. The company, founded in 1997 and 100% owned by CLH, performs aviation fuel storage and supply activities in 28 airport facilities in mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands. CLH Aviación operates in airports of all shapes and sizes, from the largest and busiest, such as Madrid-Barajas (with close to 50 million passengers in 2009), to the smaller end of the scale, such as Córdoba (which barely exceeded 15,000 passengers last year according to Aena figures). Another characteristic which differentiates some airports from others is the hydrant, an underground pipeline system which makes it unnecessary to transport fuel around the airport platform in road tankers. This system is far more efficient, safer and more environmentally friendly.
