The Central Logistics Project, developed by AIMMS Partner UniSoma in 2005, and is based on ABASEM, Scheduling Software developed in AIMMS for wood transportation planning. Cenibra hired UniSoma to develop and implement a Central Logistics Center to solve their wood supply logistics problem.
TNT Express has implemented efficiencies that have saved the company more than $260 million while simultaneously reducing their carbon footprint by 283,000 metric tons. AIMMS and operations research brought them this optimization success.
Horoz enjoyed a cost savings of approximately $400,000 per year with their application of AIMMS, which they feel exceeded their expectations in large part because of AIMMS’ capabilities and ease of implementation. In the future, if the client allows Horoz to integrate with their production and sourcing programs, the potential savings could easily be doubled.
SITA is a specialist and market leader in Europe, Asia and South America in waste management. In the Netherlands, SITA serves about 80,000 companies, and 100 municipalities with a total of 1.8 million inhabitants. In addition to tactical planning – resulting in a plan minimizing monthly costs – the tool is also used for strategic planning and has reduced SITA’s yearly operational costs by €400,000, with project costs as low as €35,000.
Shell: GMOS/NetSim Development
The toolset known as GMOS/NetSim (Global Manufacturing and logistics Optimization System/Network analysis and Supply chain optimization System) was built in order to improve Shell’s gas sector activities, which include complete corridor planning services, from construction to production, to end-user (optimizing overall margins), and forward planning in terms of gas specifications, gas/crude production balancing, the effect of a no-flaring policy, and debottlenecking of multiple gas trains.
